Lawrence Sullivan, a fine magician from Hong Kong, commissioned Mark Stutzman, the brilliant illustrator and artist famous, in part, for his amazing work with David Blaine’s posters and decks of cards, to produce the new design we call Legends. With Stutzman’s brilliant design and a new card factory in Taipei, Conjuring Arts is extremely excited to be able to offer Legends and to honestly say they are the beginning of the revolution on playing card quality.

These cards have a slip factor and snap factor that makes them perfect for flourishes, shuffle work, deals and more or less all types of sleight of hand. They are different from any other decks we’ve felt – neither like current USPCC products nor like old Jerry’s. They are really amazing. The factory we found produces primarily ultra high quality cards for far east casinos and hasn’t produced much previously in our sleight of hand sector. They are quite thin as well but strong and don’t feel “spongy” like many thin backs do. You will also notice that the white border is much narrower than “normal” cards from the US. This is due to extreme precision printing and finishing and due to this perfect registration the deck has an amazingly balanced appearance. Lancer Ex (CardsDancing)

CardsDancing is an online community of cardists, and is the second largest professional cardistry forum in China, with more than 1,000 members to date!

This deck was originally meant only for use by their forum members. A total of 2,500 decks were printed, and will never be reprinted again. Only 1,080 decks were released for sale to the public.

Deck is made from Bicycle stock and features fully custom cards.

The Straits Times

We were featured for this month's Collectors' Series on the Life! section of Saturday's Straits Times. I was pretty surprised when they first approached me, and wasn't quite sure how they even knew I was a collector. I'm glad they did though, and I hope this small article would help to increase the awareness of our hobby and spark some interest in playing cards within Singapore.

Transducer (Oriduru) (K3 Studios)

"Focusing on the culture and oriental style of Japan, we chose the Oriduru as our theme for the design this time round. Oriduru means "Paper Cranes folded from origami paper" in Japan. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Some stories believe you are granted eternal good luck, instead of just one wish, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures and is said to live for a thousand years!

For the back design of the cards, we brought in a lot of elements apart from the theme of the deck. We had ALL the pips (including those small corner pips) on the faces of the cards customised based on the foliage scroll, a traditional style in Japan. 

The colors of the court cards have also been changed to have a warm and cosy feel. 

2 identical jokers where designed modernly but with the traditional feel of the folding art of origami. 

The tuck case also has a modern design. On the front of the tuck case, we used metallic silver on the black and white design to provide a 3D contrast. 

A double back and ad card will also come with the deck. Last, but not least, the Ace of Spades has also been designed around the theme of Oriduru." -K3 Studios
